Rehearsals took place the day before in Central Park. At rehearsals, Eric went through several takes of “A Difficult Kind” with Sheryl. On the evening of the broadcast, EC did not take part. Broadcast live on television in the US, with a few repeat broadcasts via Fox. Broadcast live on radio throughout the US, hosted by WPLJ-FM, New York City.
A free ticket was needed to attend the event. Tickets distributed via "on the street" contests as well on radio.
