Fender will unveil 100 limited edition Eric Clapton Crossroads Stratocaster Guitar Packages on 20 July. One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit the Crossroads Centre at Antigua, the drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation facility founded by Eric in 1998. Fender has created a very special limited edition set: the Eric Clapton Crossroads Stratocaster and Crossroads ’57 Twin-Amps.
The limited editions will consist of 50 guitar and amplifier sets, along with 50 guitars. Both packages will be made available to the public on Friday, 20 July, just days before Eric’s Crossroads Guitar Festival on 28 July in Chicago. Master-built in Fender’s Corona, California Custom Shop, the Eric Clapton Crossroads Stratocaster guitar was created under the legendary guitarist’s guidance and supervision by the very same artisans who handcraft his personal instruments. Each guitar will bear a unique "Crossroads Antigua" graphic designed and originally hand-drawn by Eric. The commemorative Crossroads ’57 Twin-Amps are modeled after the original ’57 Twin with the classic Fender sound and design that made them so desirable. The ’57 Twin-Amp is Eric’s personal amp of choice for studio and stage use.
The Crossroads Premium Platinum Package is highlighted by the Crossroads Edition ’57 Twin-Amp paired with the Crossroads Guitar in an Anvil road case. The limited-edition amplifier features a custom engraved commemorative "Crossroads 2007" badge in recognition of the Chicago festival. The premium package will also include a certificate of authenticity signed by Eric, an official Crossroads tour laminate, set list and program book, Clapton guitar picks, a commemorative Crossroads guitar strap and a framed art print of the Crossroads instrument package, signed and numbered by photographer Stephen Pitkin. About Crossroads Centre at Antigua:
The Crossroads Centre at Antigua is an international, non-profit facility founded by Eric Clapton. Crossroads Centre provides treatment and education to chemically dependent persons, those with other compulsive addictive behaviours, their families and significant others. Eric founded the 36 bed residential facility because he saw a great need for the treatment of alcohol and drug addiction in the Caribbean, as well as around the world. To do this, he has personally invested his time and money to make it a reality. Crossroad Centre’s mission is to provide quality care and treatment that is both affordable and accessible. In keeping with this, a foundation based in the United States and a charitable trust in the United Kingdom raise funds to help support those who are unable to afford treatment.
