John Mayer and Lianne La Havas have been added to the roster of artists performing at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival on September 20 and 21 in Dallas, Texas. All profits from the sold-out event will benefit The Crossroads Centre in Antigua, a treatment and education facility founded by Eric Clapton for persons with alcohol and chemical dependencies.
John Mayer is one of a small group of guitar luminaries who have been invited by EC to perform at all of the festivals. The others are Jimmie Vaughan, Vince Gill, Buddy Guy, Sonny Landreth, Robert Cray, Doyle Bramhall II, Robert Randolph and from Los Lobos, David Hidalgo and Cesar Rojas.
John recently completed a series of gigs in Japan as part of his 2019 World Tour, which wraps mid-October. While in Tokyo, he joined EC on stage at the Nippon Budokan to jam during the encore song, “Cocaine.” John will also be on the road with Dead & Company from late May through early July.
Lianne La Havas, is a British singer, songwriter and guitarist. Her debut studio album, Is Your Love Big Enough?, earned a nomination for the BBC’s Sound of 2012 and was named Album of The Year on iTunes Best of 2012 list. In 2016, her follow up disc, Blood, received a Grammy Nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album. Out on the road, she’s supported Coldplay and Bon Iver, toured with Paloma Faith as a backing vocalist and has collaborated with Prince, Aqualung and Rudimental. Lianne’s 2016 live performance of “Say a Little Prayer” was featured in the current season of the U.S. television drama, This Is Us. She recently announced shows in three U.S. cities prior to her performance at Brooklyn’s Afropunk Festival on August 25.
