To celebrate more than 40 years of creating books that are works of art in themselves and their 100th edition, Genesis Publications worked with Eric Clapton, Sir Peter Blake, and the estates of George Harrison and David Bowie to reimagine some of their most sought-after books as a collection of fine-bound pocket editions. GENESIS 100, limited to 1500 copies, allows readers to rediscover some of the most collectible works published by Geneis on the journey to 100 editions. Included are
• “Songs by George Harrison” by George Harrison and Keith West
• “24 Nights” by Eric Clapton and Sir Peter Blake
• “Pleased to Meet You” by Michael Putland, introduced by Mick Taylor
• “Speed of Life” by Masayoshi Sukita and David Bowie
The idea for a pocket limited edition was originally conceived by George Harrison and Genesis Publications founder, Brian Roylance, for “Songs By George Harrison.” It took until now to realize the idea and put four of the most sought after titles into a boxed set as the 100th edition.
Since 1991, Eric Clapton has contributed to four limited edition books published by Genesis – “24 Nights”, George Harrison’s “Live In Japan”, “Concert For George” and his own “Six String Stories”. All except “Concert For George” are fully subscribed and no longer available from the publisher. Extremely collectible, they occasionally become available on the secondary market and often at prices considerably higher than the original pre-publication offering.
