Journeyman: Eric Clapton – A Photographic Narrative Out Sept 17

    On September 17, “Journeyman: Eric Clapton – A Photographic Narrative” will be published by Calla Editions featuring the photographs of Gene Shaw. Shaw has been photographing Clapton for more than 30 years at locales around the globe at events large and small, public and private. The book includes more than 150 of Shaw’s color and black and white photos of the guitarist, all accompanied by Shaw’s performance notes and set lists. Many of the images are previously unpublished.

The book has an introduction by Rolling Stone writer Anthony DeCurtis and a Foreword by John “Crash” Matos, artist and designer of some of Clapton’s guitars “grafitti” guitars.

Born in Brooklyn, Gene Shaw is a New York City-based photographer. His images of Clapton, Madonna, The Who, U2 and more have been featured in Vogue, Rolling Stone, People, Billboard and other publications as well as The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. His photos of Clapton have been featured in Where’s Eric! and on whereseric.com. Shaw has been the house-photographer at some of NYC’s most popular clubs including The Ritz, Tattoo and Irving Plaza.
