To celebrate the 50th year of Eric Clapton’s career as one of the most important and influential guitarists of all time, music journalist and Clapton authority Marc Roberty has compiled every day-to-day detail of Clapton’s professional life in music into two heavily illustrated volumes.  Eric Clapton Day By Day: The Later Years 1983–2013 will be available from book retailers worldwide 29 October. It picks up where the Volume 1 – The Early Years left off covering Eric’s comeback after years of drug and alcohol abuse and his continuing on to become one of the world’s most respected and admired musicians. Like the first volume, it also has extensive lists of tour dates, set lists, and details of all recording sessions, including information about unreleased songs. There are quotes and narrative from the engineers, producers, and musicians who worked alongside Eric in the studio.

Marc Roberty has written several previous books about Clapton including Eric Clapton – A Visual Documentary (1986), Slowhand – The Life And Music Of Eric Clapton (1991), Eric Clapton – The Complete Recording Sessions 1963 – 1992 (1993) and The Eric Clapton Album – Thirty Years of Music & Memorabilia (1994). He has contributed to Where’s Eric! Magazine over the years and his articles have also been featured in Guitarist, Rolling Stone, Best (France), Mojo, The Financial Times, and The Independent.

The publication of the two-volume work coincides with Eric Clapton’s 50th anniversary in the music business. The first volume in the set, published in May 2013, has insight into how Eric slowly found his own musical identity during the years 1963 to 1982.
