Eric Clapton: Tokyo 2025 Night Eight

Eric Clapton returned to the stage at the Nippon Budokan on April 27 for the final concert of his eight-night Tokyo residency. The sold-out show capped a landmark run at a venue that has become deeply tied to his decades-long connection with Japan. This visit marked Eric’s 24th time performing in the country since 1974, making Japan his most frequently played destination outside of the UK and US.

The Budokan holds a special place in Eric’s story—not only was it the site of his first-ever concert in Japan on October 31, 1974, but on April 21, 2023, he became the first non-Japanese artist to perform there 100 times. With tonight’s performance, Eric’s total number Budokan concerts reached 110.

Throughout this year’s residency, fans were treated to a rich mix of classics spanning Eric’s entire career, along with blues that have long been a hallmark of his live performances. On stage with him for all eight nights—and joining him again for all 2025 dates—were Nathan East (bass/vocals), Doyle Bramhall II (guitar/vocals), Sonny Emory (drums), Chris Stainton (keyboards), Tim Carmon (Hammond organ/keyboards), along with backing vocalists Sharon White and Katie Kissoon.

The final night’s set list was:

01. White Room
02. Key To The Highway
03. Hoochie Coochie Man
04. Sunshine Of Your Love
05. Kind Hearted Woman
06. Golden Ring
07. Nobody Knows You When You’re Down And Out
08. Can’t Find My Way Home (Nathan East / vocals)
09. Tears In Heaven
10. Badge
11. Wonderful Tonight
12. Old Love
13. Crossroads
14. Little Queen Of Spades
15. Cocaine
16. Before You Accuse Me (Encore)

Next, Eric heads back to the UK for a brief May run, beginning with a return to Nottingham on May 18—his first concert in the city in 17 years—followed by three nights at London’s Royal Albert Hall, a venue he once affectionately called his “front room,” on May 21, 23, and 24.

From there, the tour continues with two shows at Milan’s Unipol Forum on May 27 and 28, and concerts at Paris’ Accor Arena on May 31 and Nice’s Palais Nikaia on June 2.

In September, Eric returns to the United States for a limited run of concerts, kicking off in Nashville and making a long-awaited return to New York’s Madison Square Garden on September 19. The Wallflowers will join as special guests in US cities, while Andy Fairweather Low and the Low Riders will appear in the UK, Italy, and France.

No additional dates will be added to the tour. Some shows—including London, Philadelphia, and Uncasville—have already sold out, but tickets are still available for other cities. See the full list below for dates and how to buy.
