Eric Clapton Rocks Rio: Night 2
12 Oct 11
Eric Clapton performed the second of two concerts at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro on 10 October. The sold-out crowd heard "Tell The Truth" – which had a terrific solo according to one fan in attendance – and other Clapton favorites like "Badge," "Cocaine" and "Old Love." As always, EC visited his blues roots with songs like "Driftin’," "Key To The Highway," "Before You Accuse Me," "Little Queenie" and others. Gary Clark Jr – who’s currently supporting EC at several Brazilian dates – joined Eric and his band on stage for the encore, "Crossroads."
One fan emailed Where’s Eric!, "great solos in ‘Tell The Truth’, ‘Old Love’ and ‘Little Queen of Spades’. Chris Stainton and Tim Carmon were incredible!"
Clapton performs next at Morumbi Stadium in Sao Paulo on Wednesday (12 October). Gary Clark, Jr. will also open at that concert.
For fans in New York, London, Hamburg and Amsterdam who may only have seen Gary in the Crossroads 2010 DVD, he’ll be in your cities later this month. Gary is at NYC’s Highline Ballroom on 18 October, at London’s Bush Hall on 26 October, the Prinzenbar in Hamburg on the 27th and finally at Amsterdam’s famed Paradiso on the 28th.
