Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood announced on Monday 4 October two shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall. The concerts take place 26 and 27 May 2011. Following the announcement, tickets were put on sale to the general public at 9AM (London).
Meeting in the Sixties, their musical paths first connected with their formation of Blind Faith with Ginger Baker and Rick Grech. Although the band was short-lived, the men remained friends. After reuniting on stage in 2007, Clapton and Winwood performed three now-historic concerts at New York’s Madison Square Garden in February 2008, which were captured on DVD. The duo followed it up with two critically acclaimed tours of the US in 2009 and the UK / Europe earlier this year. These just announced intimate concerts at the Royal Albert Hall promise more of the same: Blind Faith classics, solo hits from each, and songs they just love to play live.
Tickets for the 26 and 27 May 2011 Clapton / Winwood Concerts are £85 (box seats) £75 / £65 / £45 subject to booking fee; maximum of 6 tickets per household per show. VIP Hospitality packages also available. Tickets available from 4 October 2010 at 9AM (time in London).
