Palmer, Phil

Palmer, Phil

Phil Palmer made his mark as a member of Paul Brady’s band and as a session player on numerous albums. He comes from a musical family (Ray and Dave Davies of The Kinks are his uncles).

Phil first worked with Eric Clapton during the sessions for Journeyman sessions in 1989. He then joined Eric’s band for the tour in support of that album.

Phil has toured with Dire Straits and worked with Pete Townshend on his Psychoderelict album and tour (along with Katie Kissoon and Andy Fairweather-Low). In 2000, he worked with Townshend extensively taking part in the first live performances of Lifehouse at Sadler’s Wells Theater in London and an episode of VH1’s Storytellers. He has also worked with Tina Turner.

Phil has released a solo album consisting of ’60s / ’70s covers. He was a member of the house band for “Party At The Palace” – a concert celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden Jubilee – in which Eric took part.
