In early 2007, Eric Clapton appeared on stage playing a white Fender Stratocaster with gold anodized scratchplate. It soon became known amongst fans as the “Christmascaster” or “Christmas Stratocaster.” This is because the instrument was a gift from his wife and four daughters at Christmas 2006 with the inscriptions from them on the back. It is a standard production model and not an Eric Clapton Signature Stratocaster. It was used from time-to-time on stage during 2007 but has not been spotted at any live performances since that time.
