Clapton’s 2004 Tour Stops In Glasgow

On 26 April 2004, Eric Clapton’s current world tour stopped in Glasgow, Scotland for a gig at the SECC. The set list – after seeing quite a few changes early in the tour – has seemed to have settled in.

Greig McAlpine told Where’s Eric!, "I’ve been lucky to see Eric a few times over the past ten years,this time he was better than ever. The most intense yet effortless I’ve heard him. The set was the same as previous nights on the tour from" let it rain" to "mojo workin" Eric never faulted, its was seriously good stuff."

Gerry Welsh had this to say, "We were at the SECC in Glasgow last night to see Eric and the band. As every other report on the other concerts on earlier shows have gone through every track, I shall limit myself to saying that the whole evening was amazing, including Robert Randolph, but the highlights must be Eric’s solo in the middle of I Shot the Sherriff, which brought a lump to my throat at the same time as making the hairs stand up on the back of my neck, Milkcow’s Calf Blues, which was sensational and Badge, which brought a tear to my eye. The only problem was that it had to end. Now that I have seen him in Glasgow, my next task will be to see him in his spiritual home, the Royal Albert Hall, next time he tours. Great night, great band, great blues."
