Eric Clapton Breaks Out “The Core” In Paris

On January 23, Eric Clapton performed a by-invitation-only gig at the Théâtre Mogador in Paris. The band was Doyle Bramhall II, Paul Carrack, Nathan East, and newcomer Sonny Emory on drums.

The set list held quite a few surprises for Clapton aficionados. “Got To Get Better In A Little While” was back after an absence of several years. But, Eric kept the biggest surprise back until late in the show. For the first time since July 1978 at Blackbushe Aerodrome, he performed “The Core.” The complete set list was:
