BBC Radio 2 Presenter Johnnnie Walker celebrates the 40th Anniversary of Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs on his show, Sounds Of The 70s, on Sunday 3 April from 15:00 to 17:00. During the two-hour show, Johnnie will talk to Memphis-born keyboardist and co-songwriter Bobby Whitlock and the engineer and producer Andy Johns about the intensive six week recording process, the coming together of Eric Clapton and Duane Allman, and the mixing of genres from blues, gospel and R&B. Not to mention the feted album title track, the infamous love triangle behind the record and the short-lived nature of the band. The show can be heard on BBC Radio 2, BBC iPlayer, online, on digital / cable television and on your mobile phone.
