Eric Clapton's Family

Eric Clapton has been married twice. He has five children.

Eric Clapton's first wife was Pattie Boyd Harrison. A successful model in the 1960s, she inspired his classic album from 1970, Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs. Eric fell in love with her even though Pattie was married to his best friend, George Harrison. The Harrison’s divorced in the mid-70s. Eric Clapton and Pattie married on 27 March 1979 in Tucson, Arizona. Eric and Pattie Clapton divorced in 1989 and had no children together.

Eric Clapton married his second wife, Melia McEnery, on 1 January 2002. Eric and Melia Clapton have three young daughters: Julie Rose (b. June 2001), Ella Mae (b. January 2003) and Sophie (b. February 2005).

Eric Clapton’s eldest child is his daughter, Ruth Kelly-Clapton (b. January 1985). Ruth's mother is Yvonne Kelly, with whom Eric had a relationship with in the mid-1980s.

His son, Conor, was born in August 1986. Conor Clapton died on 20 March 1991, when he tragically fell from a window of a New York City apartment where his mother was living. Conor's mother is the Italian actress / tv personality / photographer, Lori Del Santo. Eric and Lori were never married.
