Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award

The Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award is a special merit award from the Recording Academy’s National Trustees. It is given to performers who have made “creative contributions of outstanding artist significance” to the recording arts.

At the Recording Academy’s 2006 Ceremony in Los Angeles, California, the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce for their pioneering work in the band, Cream.

In addition to this prestigious award, Eric Clapton has received numerous Grammy Awards for his recorded works. See the entry Grammy Awards: All for a complete list. A number of his recordings have also received Grammy Hall of Fame awards.
