Eric Clapton's First Music Award

Eric Clapton received his first music award in the spring of 1969 from Melody Maker. He was named "Best International Musician" in the publication's Pop Poll.

Melody Maker was a UK-based music publication that was established in 1926. It ceased publication in 2001 when it was absorbed by its major competitor, NME (New Music Express).
